Pearls - Tears from the sea...
When the sky is clear and the moon, the queen of the night, spreads her sweet silver light over the earth, pearl oysters leave the seabed to rise up to the waves. For years on end they have been producing, with minute coatings of nacre, their full-grown, glorious pearls. The time is now here to set them free.
The oysters let themselves gently swing in the billowing waves and in the moon’s silvery radiance, they open and set the pearls free. Like tears from the sea they are taken by the waves and, one by one, are cast lovingly on the beach.
Very early in the morning, before the sun shows her smile, wonderful cherubim hasten to the beach to gather up the perfect, full-grown pearls in the skirts of their silk dresses to make the most beautiful jewelry from them.
